The emergency animal hospital of elegant city was a great place to take our dog. They were very friendly, thorough and did a great job would highly recommend them
If you own an exotic pet, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for veterinary care. This clinic demonstrated a complete lack of communication, professionalism, and consideration for its clients’ time. When scheduling our appointment, we were specifically told that 5:00 PM was the latest available appointment because the exotic veterinarian leaves at a certain time. We arrived promptly at 4:45 PM, expecting to be seen within a reasonable timeframe.
Instead, we sat in the lobby for over an hour without a single update from staff. Employees walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us or providing any explanation for the delay. We were eventually escorted to an exam room, where the technician informed us that she was finishing up a few things and would return in a couple of minutes to obtain our animal’s vitals. More than another hour passed, and nobody returned to the room or provided us with an update. After waiting well over two hours past our scheduled appointment time, I finally had to leave the exam room and approach the receptionist myself to find out what was going on. The response I received was that we would likely be waiting another few hours before being seen.
There was no apology, no explanation for the excessive delay, and absolutely no acknowledgment of the inconvenience. When I questioned why we had been left waiting for so long and why nobody had bothered to update us, I was finally informed that other, more urgent cases had taken priority. I completely understand that veterinary emergencies happen and that urgent cases must take precedence. What I do not understand is the complete lack of communication and disregard for clients who have scheduled appointments. If significant delays are anticipated, clients should be informed rather than left sitting in a lobby or exam room for hours with no explanation. Furthermore, if the clinic routinely experiences delays of this magnitude, that should be communicated when appointments are scheduled.
What is the purpose of scheduling an appointment if clients can be left waiting for hours without any indication of when, or even whether, they will be seen? The lack of transparency is particularly frustrating when clients have made arrangements around a specific appointment time. To make matters worse, there was no manager available to address our concerns, and at no point did anyone take accountability for the situation or offer a genuine apology. This was not simply a matter of a long wait. It was the complete absence of communication, professionalism, and basic customer service throughout the entire experience.
I will not be bringing my animals back to this clinic, nor would I recommend it to other exotic pet owners based on our experience. Emergencies are understandable, and delays are sometimes unavoidable. However, keeping clients informed, respecting their time, and treating them with basic courtesy should be the bare minimum. If you value your time and expect clear communication from your veterinary clinic, I would encourage you to consider other options.
Took in my dog than had been violently sneezing and foaming at the mouth. I called before and the tech that answered the phone told me that there would be a shift change at 8 pm and that might cause a delay while the new shift was briefed on any patients. I timed my arrival for about 8:40 pm, was taken back promptly and seen by a tech within 5 minutes. She was able to see the tip of a blade of grass in my dogs nostril, and was able to pull it out. Problem solved! To top it off, they didn’t even charge me, as I wasn’t seen by a doctor. I was so relieved and grateful for the kindness that was shown to us, and I was in and out in 10 minutes. I know the timing was simply luck, but I was thankful for the efficiency and how nice everyone was.
It's 11:20 P.M. and after cooking a steak on top of an onion and eating it I heard both our cat and dog moving around behind the door because they must've smelled the delicious smells. I tried calling both pet poison hotlines after Google told me the entire "This is a 911 emergency, it accumulates and they're definitely going to die" to which they wanted $89 or $110 to even speak with somebody to ask any questions about severity and what to do. I then asked about emergency pet clinics to which I called and was greeted by Gia who was kind, courteous and MOST IMPORTANTLY knowledgeable!!! I am going to let my family know to monitor them over the next few days for any symptoms such as irritation, lethargy and throwing up (a few more but those are the most important). I'm printing up a list of everything not to feed them for everybody because we cook in olive oil with garlic often and I don't want to take any chances. Thank You for existing and answering my many questions over the phone even though you're not getting paid (one of the many reasons 5/5 and it shows me that they ACTUALLY care + why there's such a difference between 5 or 1/2 stars to which I assume anybody who has an emergency which results in a negative outcome it's of course the company's fault...)
Keep up the good work 👌🫡
We brought our pet degu, Cocoa, in to be seen yesterday, and made the decision to put him down. The assistant and doctor who helped us were so kind, compassionate, and attentive. They supported us, gave us information, gave us time and guided us to making the best decision for poor Cocoa. They made him comfortable, which allowed us to hold him and love on him before saying goodbye. We are so grateful that Cocoa was treated with such care and concern, even though he was such a little guy.
